SMART Source Code Correction
This functionality provides convenient and controlled data correction without the need for reversing or re-posting operations.
Required Settings
When using for the first time, you need to add tables where the source code needs to be corrected.
- Click the
button, which will open the Search function, and enter SMART Source Code Correction, then follow the corresponding link.
- On the SMART Source Code Correction page, click Related > Setup.
- On the Source Code Correction Setup page, click Initialize Setup to add default settings.
- Tables where source codes can be corrected will be added.
Note
If necessary, tables can be added manually in the Source Code Correction Setup. To do this, specify the Table Number and fill in the fields Document No. Field, Posting Date Field, Source CodeField.
Source Code Correction in Posted Documents
- Click the
button, which will open the Search function, and enter SMART Source Code Correction, then follow the corresponding link.
- On the SMART Source Code Correction page, fill in the Parameters tab:

| Document No. Filter | Specify the document number where you need to change the source code. |
| Posting Date Filter | Specify the posting date of the document where you need to change the source code. |
| New Source Code | Specify the new source code value. If this field is left empty, the old source code value will be corrected to an empty source code value. |
- Click Find.
- Lines with corresponding document entries will be added in related tables.
- To fill in the New Source Code field in the lines with the value specified in the page parameters, click Change/Add.
If necessary, the source code in the New Source Code field can be changed manually for each individual line. - Click Apply Changes to save the source code corrections.
Viewing Source Code Correction History
To view the source code correction history, go to the SMART Source Code Correction page and click Related > Correction Log.
The Source Code Correction Log Entry page will display all source code correction operations. The Change Type field will indicate what kind of source code change was made.
Canceling Source Code Corrections
If necessary, applied source code corrections can be canceled. To do this:
- On the Source Code Correction Log Entry page, select the lines for which you want to cancel the source code correction.
- Click Actions > Undo.
- As a result, the previous source code change will be canceled, and the selected source code correction lines will be marked in the Canceled field.
Updating Source Code Using Excel
Go to the required journal > Click Export to Excel > Replace values in the source code column > Update journal lines with data from Excel.
