Documentation for the SMART Master Data Management (MDM) functionality

The Master Data Management functionality is designed to simplify the management of company master data. It is a module that allows for the automatic transfer of data from one company to another. Users can create an unlimited number of data sets with tables and copy them from one company or database to another. This way, data is entered once into the main "Master" company and then transmitted through a queue of tasks to all subsidiary companies.

The configured functionality will significantly increase the impact of system implementation by providing a single source of master data within the company or group of companies, eliminating secondary, incomplete, and conflicting data management and its consequences.

Getting started

Setting up MDM involves configuring both the sender (master) company and one or more receiver (destination) companies. Follow these steps in order:

  1. Configure data sets — define which tables, fields, and filters to replicate (Creating a dataset)
  2. Create credentials — set up OAuth (recommended) or Basic auth for sender authentication (Creating a credential)
  3. Set up the receiver environment — install SMART MDM on the destination, copy the Web Service URL, configure permissions (Setting up the receiver)
  4. Create destination company cards — enter the receiver URL, company name, and credentials on the sender side (Creating a destination company)
  5. Verify the connection — use Check Connection on the Destination Company card
  6. Set up job queues — create periodic jobs for automated replication (Using the job queue)
